Recorded in Pittsburgh PA, Einstein's Car featured Davis on vocals and guitar, Ryan Blair on drums, and the late John Lally on bass and Chapman Stick. Described by many as "ahead of its time", the songs on "Apocalypse" are probably the most adventurous of Jason's career, veering well into progressive and experimental rock territory. Humor does abound, however, in the form of the tongue-in-check alt rock "Monster" and what ended up being Davis's most requested song ever since, "(Ugly Little) Penguin".
